KGIRS commits to revenue target and instructs staff to work hard

Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS) Acting Chairman Sule Salihu Enehe has instructed agency staff to commit to ensuring the service meets its revenue generation target for 2022.

Enehe gave the charge Friday when unveiling the first edition of the agency’s quarterly newsletter published by the Service’s corporate communications unit.

He said the purpose of the newsletter was to introduce and promote the agency’s product to the general public, urging Service staff to engage in their work to achieve the core purpose and mandate of the Service.

“The objective of the newsletter is to promote and expose the different tax items to taxpayers so that they are informed of their rights. Also what we offered is a service on behalf of the state government.

“The state government uses the tax we collect to run projects that directly impact people’s lives. Roads, hospitals, streetlights, water construction and renovation of schools and hospitals, among others, are projects executed by the government with the revenue generated from tax collection,” he said. .
